ABOUT US
Established in 2010 as Cape Town’s first pole fitness studio, Pole Dance Cape Town has been at the forefront of this transformative sport’s growth. In 2017, the studio was entrusted to Chantal Cornelissen (Nell), a celebrated aerial artist, multiple world champion in both pole and hoop, and a former Cirque du Soleil performer. Under her leadership, the studio has flourished, becoming a vibrant hub for fitness and self-expression. In 2020, after a decade in the city center, the studio relocated to the welcoming suburb of Edgemead, creating a space where everyone can thrive.
At Pole Dance Cape Town, we specialize in fitness training, strength building, and boosting self-confidence through the art of pole and aerial sports. Our inclusive community welcomes everyone—men and women of all shapes, sizes, and fitness levels. While many students feel nervous for their first class, it doesn’t take long before they discover their inner strength, embrace their potential, and build confidence in themselves.
Our studio boasts 11 X-Poles, each standing 3.6 meters tall with a 45mm diameter, available in a range of finishes including brass, stainless steel, powder-coated, and chrome to cater to every preference and style. We also feature 7 aerial points, providing a spacious and versatile environment for both aerial and pole training.
Pole fitness is more than just a workout; it’s an empowering experience. It’s a dynamic way to lose weight, improve flexibility, and enhance coordination, all while targeting key areas like your core, arms, shoulders, and back. It’s a fun, exhilarating alternative to the gym and a proven way to build lean, toned muscle.
We’re proud to have athletes from Pole Dance Cape Town represent South Africa on the international stage at the World Championships. Not only have our athletes competed among the best in the world, but they’ve also brought home medals and celebrated podium wins, cementing our studio as a beacon of excellence in pole and aerial arts.
Whether you’re looking for a supportive community, an exciting new way to stay fit, or want to explore the competitive side of pole and aerial arts, Pole Dance Cape Town offers a home for you. Join our family and let us help you unlock your potential in a safe, empowering, and encouraging environment.

“Chantal is an excellent instructor with a vast amount of knowledge in the fitness and health fields. Her hands-on spotting technique makes you feel safe and confident while mastering new skills. Her energetic and spunky personality is incredibly inviting and brings light and only positive vibes to her beautiful studio. The studio has every different kind of pole you could possibly imagine, want, or need: brass, chrome, powder coated… you name it! I can’t wait to visit CPT again and take another class! Cheers!”

“Anita and Chantal are great teachers. They are both very knowledgeable and classes were always conducted in a way that allowed beginners to understand and perform pole moves.
